School Trips & Visits

School trips are an essential part of learning at Ivydale.

From local green spaces to national museums and residential adventures, learning at Ivydale doesn’t stop at the school gates.

They help children make meaningful connections between the classroom and the wider world, enriching their understanding while building confidence, independence and curiosity.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

We make regular use of our local area to extend learning in real and memorable ways. Visits to places such as Nunhead Cemetery, One Tree Hill, the Horniman Museum and Peckham Rye allow pupils to explore history, geography and nature first-hand, deepening their understanding of the world around them.

London as a Learning Resource

Our close proximity to central London gives pupils access to an exceptional range of cultural experiences. Travelling by train and bus, children visit major museums, concert halls and theatres, including favourites such as the London Transport Museum and the British Museum, helping learning come alive through direct experience.

Broadening Horizons

We believe in giving pupils opportunities to step beyond their familiar surroundings. Experiences such as the annual Year 6 residential trip to Wales support personal growth, helping children develop independence, resilience and confidence, while creating shared memories that last well beyond their time at Ivydale.
