Admissions criteria
Ivydale Primary School follows Southwark Council’s Primary Admissions Policy, which sets out:
- Oversubscription criteria
- Priority groups
- Catchment area arrangements
- How places are allocated if the school is oversubscribed
View Southwark Council’s Primary Admissions Policy here.
Attendance at Ivydale Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception.
Parents of children attending the nursery must apply separately for a Reception place through Southwark Council, following the same process as all other applicants.
Applying during the school year (moving schools)
Applications for places outside the normal Reception intake are known as in-year admissions.
All in-year applications should be made through Southwark Council. Please also contact the school if you are interested in an in-year place. We currently have spaces in Years 2, 4 and 5.
Admissions appeal
If your child is not offered a place at Ivydale Primary School, you have the legal right to appeal.
Appeals are managed by Southwark Council and are heard by an independent appeals panel.
