Instrumental lessons at Ivydale
Instrumental lessons give children the opportunity to develop their musical skills in greater depth and build confidence as independent musicians.
Alongside curriculum music lessons, pupils can take part in peripatetic instrumental tuition delivered by specialist teachers. Lessons are carefully timed to support children’s wider learning and offer clear progression, with opportunities to perform both in school and as part of ensembles.
Lessons are typically offered in small groups or paired sessions, helping children learn collaboratively while developing good technique, musical understanding and enjoyment.
Pupils taking instrumental lessons are encouraged to share their learning through a range of performance opportunities, including assemblies, concerts and events such as Proms in the Playground. These experiences help children build confidence and pride in their achievements.
