Guiding the Future of our School
The Governing Body is made up of parents, staff, Local Authority and community representatives who work in partnership with the school to help provide your child with the best possible education.
Governors regularly visit the school and are involved in a range of activities which cover areas such as the school’s finances and staffing, the building and environment, pupil achievement, the curriculum and pupil welfare. Named Governors are linked to particular aspects of the school such as curriculum areas, safeguarding and Special Educational Needs.
Co-opted Governor (Primary School) – Join Our Governing Body
We are currently seeking committed and dependable individuals to join our Governing Body as co-opted governors. This is a rewarding voluntary role at the heart of our school community. Our school is proud of its diversity, and we are particularly keen to hear from someone who can help us reflect and represent the community we serve. Experience or interest in digital and technology skills would be highly valued as we continue to develop in this area.
Above all, we are looking for someone who:
- Has time to give and can attend regular meetings
- Is reliable, thoughtful, and willing to contribute
- Shares a genuine commitment to supporting children’s education and wellbeing
No prior governance experience is required—just enthusiasm, integrity, and a willingness to learn. If you would like to make a meaningful difference and support the future of our school, we would love to hear from you.
The Chair of Governors is Dipalee Jukes. We want to hear what you think – please do contact us via the school office or our email address - governor@ivydale.southwark.sch.uk
